LumenScout is free to use for your own photography. It is for personal, non-commercial use. By using the site you agree to these terms.

Forecasts are estimates

Every score comes from weather forecast models, and forecasts can be wrong. A high score does not promise good light, and a low score does not rule it out. You decide whether a trip is safe and worth making: check the conditions, the terrain and official weather warnings yourself.

LumenScout is provided as it is, with no guarantee that it is accurate, complete or available. As far as the law allows, its owner is not liable for missed shots, costs, loss or harm that follow from using it.

Who owns what

You are welcome to share links to LumenScout and screenshots of it.

Without written permission you may not:

copy the site, its code or its text;
collect scores automatically or in bulk;
sell or republish the scores;
use the site or its scores to build a competing service.

Data from others

The weather, terrain and sky-darkness data behind the scores belong to their providers and are used under their terms. They are listed under Data & credits.
